About Us

upload-1ksbb84g815hkltfggrcrj37b0171321.jpg-final (1)Thank you for visiting our blog. I am a Pinay married to a German I met in a quite unusual circumstance. As a teacher, blogger and aspiring language researcher, our paths (more specifically our IPs) crossed when I was on my little social language experiment online and he, for his cultural exchange adventure. We both share the love for languages, culture, and people and hope to learn more of which along the way. This is a blog dedicated to documenting our life together as we go on our interracial transit. โค

  1. Hi, I’m a Pinay too who met the love of life (who happens to be Austrian) your blog entry for getting married in HK is super helpful. Where in the process of getting married right. Hopefully it all goes well. But I wanted to thank you for sharing experiences with it. It’s helping us so much right now so Thank you! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Hi Frau M. Thanks much for your blog. My friend recommended it to me and together with her and your guidance i was able to make everything so fast and smooth.

I have one more concern though, do you have entry on how to change married last name?

Would really appreciate your reply. Thanks much in advance.

    1. Great to be of help! As for your question, I have not changed my family name as my passport was new back then. I still use my family name as the Embassy is quite far.. Will wait until it is due for renewal. But for sure, you have to attend first the CFO seminar (Guidance and Counseling) to get a certificate and be able to use your husband’s surname. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Hi Frau M. Thanks for the reply. I already got my FRV and CFO using my maiden name and already here in DE recently. My passport is due for renewal next year and i wish to change my last name and i don’t wish to retain any middle name anymore so my name will be shorter hehe.. But apparently you haven’t changed yours too.. ๐Ÿ™ˆ

    1. Oh i see… ๐Ÿ™‚ yep…going to Berlin or Frankfurt is quite a hassle. Perhaps I have to wait until they have outreach schedules.

    1. Hello. Our case is different coz my husband used to live in the Netherlands.. so I joined him there. It took only 4 days for my visa to get an approval. However, 2 other Pinays we helped with HK wedding were able fly to DE around 3 to 4 months after. The visa was approved after 2 weeks, but it is not the usual i think. Others waited for 6 months to a year due to document and background checking.

  4. Hi.. Just in case ours will be of help. We got married in HK and a day after wedding, we booked for Termin in German Embassy in Manila via online. We got email reply after one week and our Termin was 3 months after. Then we got our family visa approval after 34 calendar days from the Termin date. So from the wedding day to my flight to Germany, we waited 4 months..
