Great to be of help! As for your question, I have not changed my family name as my passport was new back then. I still use my family name as the Embassy is quite far.. Will wait until it is due for renewal. But for sure, you have to attend first the CFO seminar (Guidance and Counseling) to get a certificate and be able to use your husband’s surname. 🙂
Hi Frau M. Thanks for the reply. I already got my FRV and CFO using my maiden name and already here in DE recently. My passport is due for renewal next year and i wish to change my last name and i don’t wish to retain any middle name anymore so my name will be shorter hehe.. But apparently you haven’t changed yours too.. 🙈
Oh i see… 🙂 yep…going to Berlin or Frankfurt is quite a hassle. Perhaps I have to wait until they have outreach schedules.

Hello. Our case is different coz my husband used to live in the Netherlands.. so I joined him there. It took only 4 days for my visa to get an approval. However, 2 other Pinays we helped with HK wedding were able fly to DE around 3 to 4 months after. The visa was approved after 2 weeks, but it is not the usual i think. Others waited for 6 months to a year due to document and background checking.
Hi.. Just in case ours will be of help. We got married in HK and a day after wedding, we booked for Termin in German Embassy in Manila via online. We got email reply after one week and our Termin was 3 months after. Then we got our family visa approval after 34 calendar days from the Termin date. So from the wedding day to my flight to Germany, we waited 4 months..
